Hiking Am Trockenen Stiefel
Overview
There are two hiking trails that are officially marked from the starting point, however, the area offer various paths through the forest and various forks to head into different directions. The hiking trail itself is a gravel road, also ideal for good strollers capable of maneuvering through gravel streets. There are several off beat paths, for example along the Dickelsbach, which is great for kids, but not for strollers.
The official hiking trail is ca. 7km when following the official route, with starting and end point the parking lot which provides free parking for roughly 25 cars. Either way while walking you do not need to follow the official hiking trail, as you will come across plenty of forks in the paths heading into different directions. There are no benches to sit, however, if you are along the stream (Dickelsbach) there is plenty of shade and tree stems to sit while the kids play by/next to the stream.
