Hiking Löwenburg
Overview
The entire area around the so-called "Siebengebirge" offers plenty of hiking opportunities. This specific entry is regarding a hike up to the "Löwenburg" which was formerly a castle overlooking the area.
South of Bonn rising above the Rhine valley to the west. The trails here offer hiking paths in numerous directions with nearly all paths leading to the Löwenburg. It is clearly marked and the great thing is that it is also accessible by stroller (Push chair) as the paths are paved or relatively flat. There are certain places where you might need to do some pushing up hill but it is possible to get to the top with a stroller.
The recreation area with a wide view over the Rhine Valley, as previously mentioned, offers many hiking opportunities to the ruins of the former castles. From the Löwenburg you can see the Drachenfels ruins above the Rhine. The ruins of the Wolkenburg and the Hirschburg on the neighboring mountains of the Drachenfels remain hidden in the forest.
