DAV Climbing and Sports Club Erlangen
The DAV Climbing Club in Erlangen is also known as the Sparkassen Bergwelt, and is a new climbing and club center, where the Erlangen section of the German Alpine Club has created a central meeting place for its club members. There are several things that are housed here including the central office, the alpine library and room for events.
One can virtually see the climbing center from afar, as the tower hovers significantly above ground for outside climbing. The halls inside also offer a variety of climbing opportunities for cold or wet days.
Everyone is welcome to the climbing center. There are various difficulties and routes, along with a speed wall, the possibility to rent gear for your session, as well as a store to purchase gear. The DAV Erlangen offers various courses, including children and teens, at any stage, along with the possibility to celebrate your birthday here. There is also yoga and various other events and courses offered. More information to these can be found on their website.
Along with the climbing center, an urban sports facility has also been created, whose doors are open to all visitors, along with a small bistro of freshly prepared meals for lunch, a coffee break or an evening chat. The bistro is accessible whether you use the climbing halls or not.
The climbing facilities are open to young and old, families with children, grandparents, climbers, hikers and everyone else, therefore the DAV climbing club welcomes everyone.
