Thurn Castle Adventure Park
Overview
Thurn Castle Adventure Park is a themed amusement park near Heroldsbach, between Forchheim and Höchstadt, and is open in spring and summer. The park has roughly 30 attractions that include several shows such as jousting tournaments and magic shows, plus changing theme, event and action days.
The park is a family oriented and family friendly theme park. You'll find several areas within the park that include a nature experience with lots of animals and almost 600-year-old castle complex, along with knights wearing their flags and lances, noble horses and spectacular swordsmen. There is a western city that does daredevil stunt shows, a pirate fleet, as well as a new water and sand playground.
The park features a variety of children related rides and activities and is a great family outing in the area, roughly 30 minutes by car from Nüremberg. Like many amusement parks, it started with the animal enclosure and the fairy tale forest. The nice thing is the well integrated castle along with its trees and ponds that offer both a recreational area, and a theme park experience.
