Mercado Colon
Overview
The Colon Market (Cercado de Colon) is a public market located in the city center of Valencia and is one of the main works of the Valencian Art Nouveau. The building was designed by the Valencian architect Francisco Mora Berenguer between 1914 and 1916. It is a clear example of Valencian Art Nouveau architecture of the early century. It was declared a national monument. Unlike the Central Market the Market Colon features 10 restaurants, 6 cafés, 1 lounge bar a flower shop, and a Gourmet Market.
Have a look and stroll around. It is absolutely free to enjoy this beautiful building. Otherwise, a great stop if you’re visiting and want to grab a bite to eat out of the midday sun.
