Overview

The l'Olivar Market (Mercat de l'Olivar)is the most popular fresh food market in Palma and is located downtown, and close to Plaza Espana (ca. 3 minute walk) and nearby the Park Ses Estacions (right across the street from Plaza Espana), which offers two great playgrounds for children worth visiting.

The market has an underground parking area, as parking is difficult within the city. The building is accessible from many sides including wheelchair friendly ramps. Inside the market you will find numerous stalls that sell a variety of products ranging from vegetables, meat, cheeses, seafood to poultry, spices, toys and textiles. There is also a supermarket (Mercadona) upstairs. You'll find everything that is typical Mallorcan as well as a variety of other products including wine and coffee.

Throughout the market, you'll also find stalls that offer freshly prepared food, from fresh sushi to oysters, tapas, and meats. Eating inside offers an amazing flair, however, space is often tight, especially if you have a stroller.

Outside the market, on Plaça del Comtat del Rosselló, you'll find a bistro with a variety of foods, snacks, and drinks and a small playground that is ideal for younger children and toddlers. There is plenty of seating located here.

The market itself is open from Monday to Friday from 7.00 to 14.30 (On Friday there is partial opening also from 14.30 to 20.00), Saturday from 7.00 to 15.00, Sunday closed. The gastronomy inside is open until 17:00.
