Im Wambachgrund
Overview
This beautiful playground seems to have undergone an update over the past period and now features something for everyone – from little toddlers to older children.
Located in the woods right between the Wambachsee and Böllertsee, this spacious playground allows for hours of fun. Right off the path of “Im Wambachgrund” upon arrival, you’ll find a small wooden hut to park your bicycle or stroller to keep it in the shade. What will strike you first is the large climbing tower, consisting of multiple nets, a bridge towards a smaller climbing area for younger kids, along with the possibility to climb to either a smaller slide or the large tube slide at the very top. It’s great to test your climbing (or spider-man) skills.
Off to one end, you’ll find a spinner, and behind that a small climbing parkour with a balance beam and wooden bridge – a good challenge for kids. Towards the middle of the playground you’ll find swings for older children and off to the side swings for smaller toddlers (note that at the time of this writing the toddler swing was broken).
Towards the back (Böllertsee) you’ll find a water play area within a sandpit that features a sand digger and turnable corkscrew.
The woods on either side provide plenty of shade along with the trees in the playground, and also offer a small adventure for kids to build a teepee or play hide-and-seek – just make sure to keep an eye out on them.
The best way to reach the playground is to park on “Kalkweg” and then walk towards the Freibad Wolfssee and take the path from there. It is about a 10-minute stroll.
