Overview

Cala Torta is a beautiful and secluded beach on the northeastern shore of Mallorca. This hidden gem is recognized for its crystal-clear seas, fine white sand, and beautiful backdrop of the surrounding cliffs, making it a must-see for nature and beach lovers.

The beach sits in a small bay surrounded by pine forests and rugged rocks, creating a distinctive and wild ambiance. Cala Torta is a tiny and rarely crowded beach (in comparison to other beaches in Mallroca) that is ideal for relaxing and admiring Mallorca's natural beauty. The crystal-clear seas are ideal for swimming and snorkeling.

If you enjoy water sports, then this may also be a great place to visit as it does get windy in the area, as the Cala is north facing. Hence, windsurfing may be of interest to you.

Hikers will also love the area. The routes around here, including the official ones are manageable for most children including younger kids. The routes lead in various directions including Cala Mitjana and in the opposite direction towards Cala Mesquida.

There is a lifeguard on duty during the summer months. While the Cala is great place, it may be necessary to weigh the age of your child. The water is not exactly shallow aside from the entrance area and it does get wavy. Also you need to take into consideration the arrival and where you park, hence your children will either need to walk a long or short distance to and from the Cala.

It is reachable by a single road that begins in Arta and stretches roughly 8.5 km until you reach the parking lot where the road splits towards Cala Torta and Cala Mitjana. From here you can either walk roughly 20 minutes as the road that lead to the Cala's in the area are fairly rough and torn. Alternatively, especially if you have a 4x4, you can slowly undertake the journey towards the Cala and park at its doorstep.
