The Bellver castle, which is roughly three kilometers from Palma's city center, was constructed between 1300 and 1311. The castle is one of Mallorca's most magnificent structures and has a long history. You can read more about it in our blog post here.
The castle is created of a highly distinctive Gothic architecture and was constructed as per King James II of Mallorca's instructions to serve as the royal palace. The castle is perfectly rounded, with a courtyard in the center and four large towers surrounding it.
The castle is now a major tourist destination and a museum. You may enjoy stunning views of Palma and the Tramuntana mountain range when you enter the castle and go to the highest floor of the structure. Concerts and other special events are also held at the castle.
All year long, the castle is accessible to the general public, including the park that surrounds the castle which include two playgrounds, the playground of the park of the castle as well as the playground of the castle itself, both on opposing ends of each other. You can go alone or arrange a tour with a guide. The Visitors Reception Center in the parking lot is where tickets can be purchased. Up until 30 minutes before the event's scheduled end time, tickets can be purchased.
Public buses and a tourist bus that ascends to the castle parking area are the only ways to get to the castle (20 minutes by foot). There is a parking space right outside the castle, making it simple to reach by automobile. Along with the castle, there is a small café and a gift shop for tourists.
