Altenberger Dom

Overview

Medieval abbey church featuring gothic architecture, ornate windows & tranquil, verdant surrounds.

There is free parking available on site. There are also cafés and restaurants as well as a hotel on site, however were closed due to Corona. The Märchenwald is also within the vicinity, but also currently closed.

Nonetheless, a nice outing in the area close to Leverkusen and Bergisch Gladbach into nature. A glimpse of the church and a nice stroll in the area including a nearby playground and sports facilities (we are not sure if these are open to the public) or alternatively a good hike or bike ride. A good place to start and wind back too.
