Aloe Vera Farm Mallorca
Overview
The Aloe Vera Mallorca Farm is located along Crta. Sta. Margalida - Artá, at Km 3,4, and belongs to the town of Santa Margalida. Located on the MA-3400 reachable from MA - 12 just after Son Serra de Marina and Finca Son Real if you are coming from the other direction.
The farm offers plenty of parking upon entering. The entrance area offers a small shop with a variety of products primarily Aloe Vera based cosmetics. The farm itself is completely free, and you are able to walk the path after entering past the brick wall. The pathway offers a spectacular view of the large area of Aloe Vera plants along with a few stops to read and learn about the plant, where it comes from, its ingredients, what it used for, and how it is cultivated, among other things. After circling around you'll end up back where you started, at the shop where you can also purchase Aloe Vera plants.
The finca on Mallorca has a size of about 40 hectares. There we grow and care for our Aloe Vera plants. Our 200,000 plants have to be at least 5 years old before the leaves can be harvested. A plant needs at least 2,000 hours of sunshine a year to build up the valuable nutrients for the juice.
The cafe here offers a few drinks and snacks including a delicious Aloe Vera sports drink. Albeit the visit itself not as exciting for children, at least not for a longer period, the possibility to stop, have a stroll and have a drink is a nice activity.
The farm also offers larger groups the ability to watch the entire process during the "on" season, from harvesting to how the machinery works.
